Christ story doesn't start in the new testiment with His birth. He is in every book of the bible. He is, was, and always will be. As we celebrate His birth, please take the time to read this and know how great He truly is.
He is seen in every book of the Bible. Take a journey through the halls of the Bible and in every one of them you will see Christ.
In Exodus He's the Passover Lamb.
In Leviticus He's the High Priest.
In Numbers He's the Cloud by day and pillar of fire by night.
In Deuteronomy He's the City of our refuge.
In Joshua He's the Scarlet Thread out Rahab's window.
In Judges He is our Judge.
In Ruth He is our Kinsman redeemer.
In 1st & 2nd Samuel He's our Trusted Prophet.
And in Kings and Chronicles He's our Reigning King.
In Ezra He is our Faithful Scribe.
In Nehemiah He's the Rebuilder of everything that is broken.
And in Esther He is the Mordecai sitting faithful at the gate.
In Job He's our redeemer that ever liveth.
In Psalms He is my Shepherd and I shall not want.
In Proverbs and Ecclesiastes He's our Wisdom.
And in the Song of Solomon He's the Beautiful Bridegroom.
In Isaiah He's the Suffering Servant.
In Jeremiah and Lamentations it is Jesus that is the Weeping Prophet.
In Ezekiel He's the Wonderful Four-Faced Man.
And in Daniel He is the Fourth Man in the midst of a fiery furnace.
In Hosea He is my Love that is forever faithful.
In Joel He baptizes us with the Holy Spirit.
In Amos He's our Burden Bearer.
In Obadiah our Savior.
You go on and you see in Micah He is the Messenger with beautiful feet.
In Nahum He is the Avenger.
In Habakkuk He is the Watchman that is ever praying for revival.
In Zephaniah He is the Lord mighty to save.
In Haggai He is the Restorer of our lost heritage.
In Zechariah He is our Fountain.
And in Malachi He is the Son of Righteousness with healing in His wings.
In Matthew Thou art the Christ the Son of the Living God.
In Mark He is the Miracle Worker.
In Luke He's the Son of Man.
And in John He is the Door by which everyone of us must enter.
In Acts He is the Shining Light that appears to Saul on the road to Damascus.
In Romans He is our Justifier.
In 1st Corinthians our Resurrection.
In 2nd Corinthians our Sin Bearer.
In Galatians He redeems us from the law.
In Ephesians He is our Unsearchable Riches.
In Philippians He supplies our every need.
And in Colossians He's the Fullness of the Godhead Bodily.
In 1st and 2nd Thessalonians He is our Soon Coming King.
In 1st and 2nd Timothy He is the Mediator between God and man.
In Titus He is our Blessed Hope.
In Philemon He is a Friend that sticks closer than a brother.
And in Hebrews He's the Blood of the everlasting covenant.
In James it is the Lord that heals the sick.
In 1st and 2nd Peter He is the Chief Shepherd.
In 1st, 2nd and 3rd John it is Jesus who has the tenderness of love.
In Jude He is the Lord coming with 10,000 saints.
And in Revelation..... He is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending.
He is found in every corner of the scripture...
We spent a quite Christmas at home. We slept in and even got to wake Sienna up. She was so excited about opening presents. The joy was contagious and made for a magical morning for all of us. We were overjoyed to have Eli here as well. If you read my blog you know that he was due Christmas day and we had hoped and prayed that he would be here early so we could enjoy him on Christmas day.
After a lovely morning spent as a family, my mom and Daniel's parents came over. We all cooked and ate and praised the Lord for the gift of His son. We had so much food, you would have thought we were cooking for twelve people not six. Rissa made ham, rolls, and a apple pie. I made appetizers, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. And my mom made her famous baked mac and cheese. Which by the way is my most favorite thing to eat! We spent the rest of the evening opening presents and playing games. It was nice to not have to go any where or stress out about Christmas. Thank you to both of our parents for understanding that we wanted to stay home, and for, making Christmas special for Sienna! I love my family and today was just what i wanted.
Last Sunday my best friend Veronique came over to photograph Eli. She is amazing and takes stunning pictures, i was super excited to have new born photo's of Eli. We were also able to get a few family photo's in as well. I wanted to get these up as soon as i got them, because i am getting asked all the time, to put up more photo's of Eli. So here you go, enjoy!

Praise God for all the wonderful family and friends that we have. Over the past few days we have had tons of people come into our home to celebrate the birth of our son Eli! Daniel and I have been over whelmed by the out pouring of love from so many people. We have been enjoying wonderful meals from our church and countless coffees and treats from family and friends. It has been wonderful to share this time with so many people. Thank you so much to everyone who has come over to share in our joy. You are truly gifts from God! Love each and every one of you!
At 6:25pm on December 16, 2009 a miracle was brought into this world. My beautiful son is finally here, he weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 in a half inches long. My water broke at 4:30 in the morning and i had easy and far apart contractions for most of the day. Daniel and I enjoyed two long walks and I had a good long nap and yet Eli wasn't here yet. He was taking his time and that was ok, i have a feeling he may be a very easy going boy. At about 5:30pm my contractions became much harder to handle and right on top of each other and just about an hour later Eli was here. So i had about an hour of hard labor, praise God for His mercy! He was stunning the moment i got to hold him. Daniel and I looked at each other and praised God for such an amazing gift, he was perfect and healthy in every way. And looked just like Sienna did when she was born, just darker skin and hair. I was blessed to have my mother and Daniel's mother here with me all day, also I am beyond grateful for my amazing midwife, who was patent and so kind to me, even if i wasn't the easiest person to deal with. The whole labor and delivery was amazing, i love home births and couldn't imagine doing it any other way. After Eli was born family and friends came over to meet the new member of our family.
Thank you to the many people across the country who were praying for me during the day, you are a blessing! Modern technology is great, between twitter and face book we hand hundreds of people around the country and world praying for us! God is good, I I felt very loved and lifted up in prayer. Today i got to be a part of a very special day in the life of Coby and Eliza. Coby, Daniel's cousin, asked me a week ago if i would do portraits for him and his girl friend with his three daughters and Eliza's two daughters, that's right five children. The surprise Coby wanted to propose to Eliza in the middle of the shoot! How awesome is that, and i would be there to capture the very amazing moment. As soon as he asked me i said yes. I have never gotten to be a part of something like this, and what a neat opportunity for me to do something a little different then my normal photo shoot.
This morning Daniel sang in our churches Christmas Choir. Daniel has a lovely singing voice and plays the guitar. He doesn't really like people to know that though. He can be a little shy. Well about a month ago as we were sitting down after our worship time at church, the lady in front of us turned around and told Daniel that he had a great singing voice and that he should be in the choir. She was also the choir director :). Daniel prayed about it and thought it would be a great way to meet more people and to serve at church. I was shocked, this was way outside of Daniel's comfort zone. However i was proud of him, for stepping out in faith to do something he had never done before.
So after weeks of practice today was the big day. The choir would be singing at all three church services. I enjoyed seeing two of them and loved being there to support my hubby. Daniel has been so supportive of me over the years with my many endeavors. I was proud to be there for him for a change. The music was fantastic and moving. Truly worshiping God through their songs. It was great to see.
I also enjoyed having visitors at church, Daniel's parents and our friends Mary and Jeff came out to see Daniel sing. It was a blessing to have them there and show them our lovely church. Plus i know Daniel enjoyed seeing some familiar faces out in the crowd as well. I really enjoyed my morning at church, hearing the sermon twice was great as well, getting different things from each time i heard it. Plus i got to hear Christmas music twice as well. It was a great way to spend my Sunday morning! Can't wait until Easter, maybe Daniel will be in the choir again, you never know.
It was a great time and I am so blessed to have the McSwains in my life. There is nothing better then good friends to share life with. So take the time to invest in great people, you will be blessed!
Tonight our church hosted The Jingle Jam. A childrens Christmas Production with singing and dancing. Sienna loved it, and was so excited to bring Grandma Lorie to see our church. The evening was filled with friends, and fun. Listening to some great music and hearing an amazing Christmas message. We loved seeing several of our youth group kids in the performance. They worked hard and did a great job, so proud of them! There were over 800 people who attended the two performances. God is doing great things at Discovery Church and He is bringing people to our doors to hear about Jesus Christ. I am looking forward to the many Christmas events that will be going on at church over the next few weeks. Over the past year God has brought some amazing people into our lives. One family in particular are the McSwains. Dan and Kristin have welcomed us into their lives, church and ministry with open arms. We became fast friends and have loved getting to know each other. We love working with them in Student Ministries and are so lucky to count them among some of our closest friends. They have two beautiful little girls, that Sienna loves to play with and we just couldn't have asked for more in such great people. So when Kristin asked me if i could take their family portraits I jumped at the idea of being able to bless them. I haven't done a photo shoot since September, so i was a little nervous. However i was reminded about how much i have missed it, it's been hard with a big belly. hehe!
