Today I took Jessica up to the mountains where i grew up, and we went hiking. Jessica is taking a photography class in high school, so we both brought our cameras. It was awesome going on a photo walk with Jessica, i so enjoyed giving her tips and letting her use some of my lenses. I loved getting to talk to her about her future and what she wants to do with her life. It's these one on one times i get with the kids from my youth group that matter the most to me. I truly get to see who they are and get to hear about their dreams.
We didn't have tons of time before the sun went down, however the rosy sunlight was pretty and i like the pictures i took very much. It felt so good to just go out a take pictures for myself. Lately i have been doing so many photo shoots, that i haven't had time to just photograph of what i want to take photograph. Now don't get me wrong i love doing photo shoots, but it's amazing just be outside and get inspired by the world around you. I hope you enjoy these photo's, i had a great time taking them.
Sienna loves to dress up. Tonight she was playing with one of my favorite hats, a wide brimmed straw hat. She looked so cute, so i grabbed my camera to take a few pictures of her. I love these shots, they seem so timeless and classic. It's these moments that makes me so glad i always have a camera ready, because it would be sad to have never captured this moment. So remember to put film in your camera or charge up the battery on your digital camera, so you are always ready to capture life's most precious moments.
I love to watch children find dandelions and with amazing delight blow them out... and then go on to search for another. Why can't we be more like children sometimes?
As children we run and pick these flowers, because we can't wait to blow them out and make a wish. But as adults we walk right past them or pull them out of our yards because they are "weeds". Sometimes we need to stop in our crazy lives and make a wish. Because you never know, it might just come true.
This photo in color is really not impressive, but for some reason in black and white it is stunning. And it really drives home the nostalgia of the dandelion for me. What do you think?
I was given some money for Christmas, and I had been really thinking about what I would do with it. I thought about buying a stove, maybe saving it. Well my hubby really encouraged me to get something I really wanted, but other wise wouldn't buy for myself. So he helped me find a really good deal on a Digital SLR camera that I have been wanting for forever. Plus we were able to save money because my regular film SLR lens would work on the digital so we wouldn't have to by a new lens.
I was so excited when the UPS guy came today with my camera! I could barely contain myself. I read through the instructions and charged the battery. Then had fun playing with all the settings and taking pictures. I am so looking forward to using this camera. Yeppie Skippie!
