"Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help, as I lift up my hands toward your Most Holy Place." Proverbs 28:2
"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." Psalm 63:4
This past week has been really rough on me. It just seems like i can't do anything right and that everything seems to be happening all at once. But it's in those rough times that i see the Lord the most. I feel closer to Him and am more willing to listen to His still quite voice. Today I was able to be out in nature and be with my family. It was in these moments today that God filled me with His peace and gave my spirit rest.
When I saw this majestic old oak tree I just had to photograph it. It wasn't until I got home and started editing it that i fell in love with this photo. It was a dark and cloudy day for the most part. However this tree still stood, tall and true, stretching its arms to heaven. I want to be that strong oak, praising God no matter what the day brings.
Thank you Lord for reminding me that You are always there no matter what the circumstances.
I took this photo while at a friends baby shower. I think it is so sweet to see, Daddy's hand, Mommy's hand, and big sister's hand all waiting for the new little one to arrive. It is photo's like these that make me proud to be a photographer. I hope that this photo will be a blessing to Crystal and Michael, when they look back on this time, while they were waiting for the daughter Moriah Rose to be born.
This photo was taken at a local coffee shop,. This is Aimee one of my many awesome youth group kids. We had gone to It's a Grind to hear a local Christian Band call Anvue. Aimee is a musician as well and loves to hear new music and meet other musicians. Aimee really enjoyed the music, and at this moment she is just listening to the awesome words to a song. The light was hitting her just right, and i love the emotion in her body language. This is one of my new favorite photo's.
Tonight was our Youth Group Christmas Party. I just can't believe it's a fifth one! Every year i let the kids help to pick a theme for the party, this years theme was "Black and White". Last week I had the teens help me cut out tons of snowflakes and black circles to decorate the Youth Room. The Youth Center is a HUGE room and even though the kids cut a ton of snowflakes, I spent the better part of last week cutting tons more. Even though it was a lot of work, it was so worth it. The room was stunning and it looked like w white Christmas! Which was perfect and everyone loved it. Plus I spent about 6 dollars on paper and had the entire room decorated. I love saving money!
I love these teenagers so much. I am truly blessed to be able to work with them. They each have a very special place in my life and truly feel like family to me. I hope that you enjoy the people you love this Christmas season, because I know I am!
While at the beach today I went for a walk by myself to take some pictures and enjoy the beautiful day. As I was walking back to where my family was i saw this girl dancing and enjoying her self. It was fun to watch and made me smile. I snap this picture as I walked past, and was suprised to see how well it turned out. I love the angle and the foot steps in the sand. It's shows the joys of a care free summer. I bet this girl is enjoying one of her last days of summer break before school starts. I hope she keeps dancing! Reminds me to enjoy every moment of my life!
I love the simplicity of this photo and the timeless feel that it has. This could be me when I was a little girl, or my mother or grandmother. I love when photo's transcend time. I hope you enjoy this photo, and I hope to post more soon!
In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:6
And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. Matthew 18:5
