This evening family and friends came together to celebrate the birthday of Veronique Guy. Her gentle spirit and kind heart touches so many people. I am blessed to know her and love her as a sister in Christ and as my best friend. I had the honor of photographing her and her extended family today. I think there were at least 18 people, 6 of which were children. The photo's turned out great, however i took them with Veronique's camera so she could have them right away. However when she sends me the photo's i will post them for you to see.
After our very windy photo shoot, we came inside to celebrate and enjoy some super yummy food. Donna, Noel and Peggy did an amazing job cooking up a delightful meal, of fish and shrimp taco's. DELICIOUS! The evening was spent chatting and loving on Veronique. It was so special to also get to sing "Happy Birthday" to her twin sister that is in Georgia, over the phone. I know Veronique misses her dearly on their birthday so i am glad they got to share that moment together.
A few weeks ago Daniel won a free bowling party for six people from Brunswick Bowl! It included two hours free bowling, shoes, snacks and drinks for all six people! He so graciously blessed me with using this party to celebrate my birthday. We invited a few of our closest friends and had a wonderful night. My favorite thing about the night was our friends Mary and Jeff meeting our new friends Dan and Kristin. They all got along great and it was so awesome to have them meet each other and get to hang out with both of them at the same time.
Daniel dominated as usual in bowling, just killing everyone else. I surprisingly played one of the best games of my life. I was worried that having a big belly would throw off my skill, however i had more strikes and spares then ever. Eli must be good luck :). Everyone had fun and the best part was no one had to spend any money! Thanks Daniel for being so wonderful and loving me so much and giving me your free bowling night! I love you!
Also thanks to Jeff, Mary, Dan and Kristin for loving me and for being such wonderful friends. I can't imagine my life with out you guys in it. Love you!
Today is my birthday! I got to get all dressed up to go out to dinner with my wonderful husband. I have been looking forward to some alone time with Daniel and getting to go out and celebrate was a lovely excuse. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Rustico. A great Italian restaurant in Augura. We had great food and I so enjoyed getting to talk to Daniel alone, just that alone would have been a wonderful gift. It was so lovely to get out and be alone with Daniel, i know once Eli comes we won't get to do this for awhile, so i savored ever moment. It was just what i wanted.
Once home, my mom and little sister had some cupcakes with us and we opened presents. It was a fun way to end my Birthday evening.
Today Gary and Lora drove all the way from Idyllwild to spend the day with us to celebrate my birthday. I felt so loved and special that they would drive three hours just to be with us today! We met up at the Skriball Cultural Center to have lunch and play in their Noah's Ark exhibit.
Sienna had an amazing time play, climbing and discovering everything on the Ark. I love that kids can touch and play with everything. We spent hours just exploring all the fun stuff you can do in the Ark. From making lighting to helping clean up after the animals. I think Sienna's favorite thing to do there was play with all the animal puppets. She just loved the whole thing. After playing all afternoon in the Ark, Sienna got to be a archeologist, and dig for pottery. She loved playing in the sand and finding treasure. It was a fun way to end our time at the museum.
Tonight the whole Milner clan went to Santa Monica Pier to celebrate Rissa's and I's Birthday's. I am blessed to share my birthday with my mother in law. So it was wonderful getting to celebrate together. We enjoyed a delicious dinner on the Pier and enjoyed watching the ocean while we ate. After dinner we walked the Pier and enjoyed spending time together as a family. Happy Birthday Mom! I hope you had a great evening.
Today is my dear friend Mary's birthday! And Daniel, Sienna and I had the honor of spending the morning and most of the afternoon with her to celebrate. I've known Mary since i was a teenager, she was my youth leader when i was in high school and someone I always looked up to. She is an amazing women of God and I praise God for our friendship. Our relationship has changed over the years from a mentor mentie relationship to being wonderful friends. I had the honor of helping her with her wedding and doing the flowers for it. She has been an important part of my life as well, helping me with my wedding, throwing me baby showers and loving me unconditionally. She is my friend and most importantly my sister in Christ. She has been someone i turn to in hard times and good times. She is and will forever be my Mary!
Sorry about all the sappy stuff, I love her and really want her to know it! hehe! This morning we met Mary and her wonderful husband Jeff for Dim Dum! Daniel and I had never had Dim Sum so this was a fun and exciting experiance. I love trying new foods, and Mary and Jeff are the people we like to have food adventures with! The food was great and even Sienna tried a lot of it. After filling our tummies with more food then we should have we headed out to a Flea Market, both Mary and I love antiques and hand made items. It was a lovely morning spent with some amazing people.
Mary I hope you enjoyed you Birthday and that is was special, because you are special and you deserve to have all your days be wonderful. Happy Birthday Dear Friend!
Today our family and friends got together to celebrate Sienna's third birthday. We decided to have the party at a local park this year and it ended up being a wonderful idea. Shockingly there was no one at the park the whole time we were there, it was like we had the entire park to our selves. Our own little private party, hehe! Sienna enjoyed playing with her friends and cousins on the play ground as all the adults enjoyed food in the shade. It was a lovely day to be outside and having fun.
I am over whelmed by the out pouring of love from our family and friends. Today was such a wonderful day because of each of them. So many family members brought food and drinks and the gifts where over flowing. There is no way we could ever afford the clothes and toys Sienna received today. God is so amazing and abundant in His blessings. He not only provided Sienna with so many things that she needed, but gave her a few things she wanted. God's love for us is always more then we need or deserve.
Thank you to everyone for coming and making Sienna's birthday so very special. You all mean so much to us!
Sienna was excited to bring her birthday presents to a restaurant and thought it was so special that we were eating out. We enjoyed cheese fondue for a started, then a oil foundue with meats and veggies for the main course, and of course we had chocolate fondue for dessert. It was so much fun and interactive. I so love being together as a family and tonight was exactly what i wanted for my anniversary gift! Thank you Daniel for spoiling Sienna and I tonight! You are just the best husband and daddy ever!
"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." Psalm 139:13
Oh how i love my daughter! Once Daniel and I were married, i longed to have children. And in January 2006 we found out I was pregnant. Everything was so special, hearing her heart beat for the first time, finding out she was a girl, and feeling her move inside me. We rejoiced and praised the Lord, when exactly four years to the day of our wedding day Sienna Joy Milner was born. I could never explain the amount of love that filled my heart for this beautiful child. I never thought i could love someone so much. She was also the product of Daniel's and I's love for each other, and just looking at her would make me fall even more in love with my husband. And today she is three. That almost takes my breath away, my baby is three and not a baby anymore.
I remember the day she was born like it yesterday, and it is so hard for me to grasp that that was three years ago. However at the same time she is such a big girl, it's hard to think she was ever being a baby. She is my little helper and has had a lot of changes in her life just in the past few months. Just this summer a lone she has moved out of her crib into a twin size big girl bed, is now completely potty trained and has her own chores around the house. What a big girl! I praise the Lord for the gift of my Sienna Joy and can't even imagine my life with out her in it. Her loving heart and kind spirit is a gift.
Thank you Lord for another year with my beautiful girl, i can't wait to see the plans you have for her over the next year and the rest of her life. I hope and pray that we will raise her to know and love you and live her life to honor and glorify your name. I could never thank you enough for giving her to me.
Sienna is so loved by so many people. And we had the blessing of having families members from around the country send her little birthday gifts. It was so thoughtful and sweet that they would take the time to shop and send special gifts for Sienna. Thank you so much Uncle Jerry, Cinda, Bob, Meritha, and Joe! Sienna loved getting the boxes and getting the treats inside! You are all so special to us, thank you again for thinking of Sienna on her 3rd birthday.
