Daniel and I took our youth group to Knott's Berry Farm tonight, as our New Years Eve tradition. We had a good size group from our church, thirteen. We drove down to Tustin in record time missing a lot of traffic, we all enjoyed dinner at Wendy's, which is where we met up with our friends from the San Diego Church. After dinner we all headed out to Knott's, now our group had grown to be over thirty. It was a fun night spent riding roller coasters and enjoying some awesome Christian music. However it started to get pretty cold, really fast. I was glad to be all bundled up. We went on one roller coaster called the Xcelerater. Oh my it was fast and a bit scary for me. But it was fun, I haven't been on a roller coaster in over 2 years! hehe!
At midnight we all met back up and rang in 2008 together. There was a awesome fireworks show, which i loved. Then we were all off to the Tustin church to try to get some sleep. So around about 3:30am we were able to get all the kids in their sleeping bags and quite. I couldn't believe it when my alarm went off at 8am, I was so tired, I felt like I had gotten no sleep. We gathered up all the teens and took them to breakfast. The kids said good bye to their friends from the other churchs and then we were off toward home. I was glad to have some very awake kids in my car, because i needed someone to help me stay awake. We enjoyed listening to music and laughing. After our long drive home, I was able to pick up my Sienna from my mom's house. I am so glad to be home, however I miss all the fun kids I got to spend time with over the past two days. I look forward to sunday night, when we get to see them all again at youth group.
I did it! My resolution last January was to write almost everyday. Well this is my 368th blog! How cool is that. I am pretty sure that this is the first New Year's Resolution that I have ever been able to keep. Yeppie! However I have no idea what my resolution will be for 2008. Ummm... I better get started on thinking about it. hehe!
How are you spending New Year's Eve?
We are taking the kids from our youth group to Knott's Berry Farm. It's a theme park not too far away from us. And then we are going to spend the night at a local church. I have been going every year since I was a teenager. So i look forward to it! Hope you have a great New Years!
This afternoon I got to go to my friend May's baby shower. It feels like yesterday that I was a bridesmaid in her wedding, however that was two years ago. Wow time does fly. Well now Amy and her husband Jeremaih are expecting a little girl named Mia Joy. Amy is just too cute and is looking so happy. A bunch of her friends gathered in Camarillo to shower her with love and gifts. It was fun getting to see Amy and share in her joy over the birth of her upcoming baby. I guess this is the time in my life when most of my friends are having babies, Oh no that must mean I am growing up! hehe!
Tonight Daniel and I went to spend some time with my mom and little sister. Daniel had built mom a new computer and we wanted to show her how to use her new digital camera. I made dinner and Daniel worked hard on my mom's computer. Hey that sounds like when we were dating! haha! It was fun being in her house and spending time with my little sister. We laughed and teased each other it was like old times. I think my mom really enjoyed having us there for so long today. And it was nice for Sienna to spend some one on one time with her Aunt Cameo, because Cameo is leaving on January 5th to go back to school in NY and won't be home again until summer. Sienna even tried saying Cameo's name, so she now is known to Sienna as "Mano" hehe! We all thought it was pretty cute. I really loved being at home with my mom, it made me feel happy in my heart. Love you mom! Had so much fun tonight!
Today we went to Daniel's Grandmothers house for Christmas with a lot of Daniel's family.Everyone was there all of Daniel's aunts, uncles, cousins, parents and his brother, not to mention several family friends. It was one crowded house. It was nice to see and catch up with all the family. Hope you enjoyed your Christmas day.
My sister Cristal and her husband Jeff got Sienna this really funny singing and dancing frog. They have one for their son, which Sienna loves to play with when she is at their house. So they thought it would be fun for her to have one at our house. Well Sienna loves it, and we think it's pretty funny too. Here is a video of my beautiful daughter being her wonderfully silly self. Hope it makes you smile. Just click on the picture to the left and then click play.
Praise God for sending His son Jesus to earth to die for my sins. Although I love the time with family and the gifts, we shouldn't forget why we celebrate Christmas in the first place. So praise God for the birth of His son!
We were so excited to watch Sienna open presents this morning. Last year she was so little she had no idea what was going on. This year she knew about the gifts and how to open them. My family back in New York sent a bunch of gifts for Sienna, which she really enjoyed opening and playing. Oh how wondrous Christmas is through the eyes of a child. After gifts I made us a pancake breakfast, which both Daniel and Sienna really enjoyed. Then we spent the rest of the morning playing with toys. Now we are off to the Milner Family Christmas. Enjoy your family today. Merry Christmas!
