My Poetry...
Miracles by Laura Milner
Do you see what I see?
Or feel what I feel?
What do you see as a miracle?
As for me all I know is a miracle.
A miracle is to be alone with a book,
To feel the softness of a slow, sweet kiss,
To sit by the fireplace as the rain beats furiously on the roof,
To be lost in someone's gaze,
To have music cover you like a beautiful, brilliant blanket,
To hear the sound of my mother's laughter,
To revel in that one moment when you first fall in love,
To smell the sweet scent of Christmas,
To be surrounded by the silence of nature,
To know you were meant to be here, in this time, this place,
To watch the sun as she says good morning,
As her beams kiss the earth,
To see the moon as he wakes up and his eyes shine down,
Oh! All these and more are miracles to me,
All different, yet perfect in their own way,
But even the imperfections are a miracle.
To me every little word,
Every beautiful cloud in the blue washed sky,
Every shy flower as it blooms in the field,
Every word in a poem,
To me this is what I have,
All I know and all I have are miracles,
What miracles do you have?
